Description

A superb example of a late 19thc cast gilt bronze mirror or door surmount c1880. Featuring a typical design, a large curving shell stands in the centre flanked by strongly curving scrolls leading to tapered garlands on either side. Such items were mainly used as mirror surmount but they look fabulous as decorative objects above doors or furniture such as cupboards. In excellent condition with a strong design.
