Description

A fine example of a Staffordshire figure depicting a leopard hunter on horseback. The figure really is beautifully modelled with the horse rearing up as the leopard attacks from below. The whole is well decorated in a range of colours. This is a rare and desirable figure which was probably inspired by Astley’s circus. The whole is in good antique condition with no chips or restoration. C.1870.
