Description

This is a pair of early Victorian hallmarked sterling silver sugar tongs. They were assayed in Newcastle in 1854 and made by John Walton. He was active from 1821 to 1866 and was based at Painter Heugh, Newcastle. They are in fiddle and shell pattern and have an engraved 'C' to the end of the handle.
They are in good general condition with wear commensurate to their age.
They weigh 50g / 1.61 oz t
