Description

Cornelius Pearson 1805-1891.Born in Boston a landscape and topographical artist in watercolour he was also an engraver.Pearson exhibited 145 works at Suffolk Street between 1843 and 1879,four at the Royal Academy from 1845 until 1872 and also at the New Watercolour Society and elsewhere.He was one of the oldest members of the Langham Sketching Club.Two of ha views of Wales are in the Victoria and Albert Museum. ‘On the River Tern,Shropshire’signed watercolour;image size 11.5x20 cms,framed size 25x33.5 cms.Provenance: with the Beaufort Gallery ,London SW3
