Description

An attractive silver plated caviar dish. This lovely example has a deep base to hold crushed ice, an internal tray for holding the caviar and a domed lid. Apart from use as a chilled serving dish, the reservoir can also be filled with boiling water for use as a warming dish.
This attractive dish has a pierced edge to the base and is as practical as it is decorative. Often mistaken for muffin dishes, the smaller dimensions of these particular pieces, preclude such use. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no holes or splits and no plate loss. There is some scratching to the underside of the base and a small dimple to the lid, commensurate with age and use.

Marks :- Maker's mark. Welbeck plate.
