Description

A striking antique oil painting, on board, featuring a study of a young girl.
The subject, wearing her traditional Sunday best with lace colour and a green ribbon in her hair is sat against a dark background.
The style of her clothes indicate that this painting originates from the late 19th to early 20th century. The painting is unsigned however writing on the back of the board suggests the artist to be T Bates and that the young girl was aged 11 years when her portrait was completed.
This wonderfully naïve piece is set within a wooden frame with gilt detailing and is ready to hang within the home.
