Description

This is an attractive mid 19th century Italian Giltwood frame with a really great look dating from around 1850.
The frame has had some losses to the original gesso where the limewood can be seen showing through but this really adds to the charm of the piece. The gilding is the original finish and the remaining gesso appears to be quite sound and stable with no flaking or loose pieces.
The frame measures 64 cms by 56 cms overall
The aperture is 37.8 cms by 29.2 cms
The rebate at the back for the painting is 40.5 by 32 cms
