Description
This wonderfully observed pair of Dalmatians convey so well the boundless energy and constant alertness which they are so known for. Although not marked, which was not unusual I am pretty certain they would have been made by one of the Staffordshire Potteries circa 1870. They are a lovely size, not overly large and certainly not miniature measuring approx 5"/13.5cm in height as they sit upright on their cobalt blue oval bases. As typical of this period the dogs are hand painted with their black spots and their sweet faces with just the use of red used for their smiles. They each have around their neck a painted gilt collar and chain which originally would have shone out but over time and much love this has rubbed which is also true of the gilt line around the rim of the bases. * AGE - Circa 1870 * CONDITION - Both the dogs are in good condition with no chips or cracks that I can see. The gilt paint of the collar and chain and rim around the base has mostly been rubbed away over the years. * POSTAGE - All items include the cost of packing and postage to the UK. I send my items both Tracked & Signed For with Royal Mail’s Special Delivery Service. I am happy to ship items to overseas buyers, please contact me prior to buying with address details and I will forward a quote deducting the cost of UK postage. Overseas customers will be responsible for any customs charges incurred. * RETURNS - If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, just let me know as soon as possible and return the item to me within 14 days of receipt and I will offer a full refund if the item is returned in the same condition it was sent, the cost of return postage will be incurred by the customer.
