Antique Chinoiserie Standard Lamp

Description

A good example of an early to mid 20th Century Chinoiserie standard lamp. It is made of wood with a turned tapering design on a round base with three small block feet. It is beautifully decorated with a traditional hand painted Chinoiserie design and gilded highlights.
It has been rewired to modern standards with a braided cable and a standard bayonet bulb holder. It is in working order with a valid PAT test certificate.
The lamp is in good condition and displays well. There are some signs of age and use and some losses and wear to the paint in places and some minor shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. There are signs of historic worm which has all been treated and has not affected the lamp structurally or aesthetically and it is strong and sturdy.
