John Homes Smith (b.1797) Watercolour Signed
'The Old Hall, Pepper Hill, Shropshire
A framed water colour, dated 1854, of the Old hall, Pepper Hill, near Boningale on the East Shropshire border was a home of the Talbot Earls of Shrewsbury. It was later sold to the Earl of Dartmouth who removed the well head to his seat at Patshull near Wolverhampton.
Various provenance on the rear, previously purchased from an estate in 2009

watercolour size 9" x 7" (22.5cm x 17cm)
all sizes approx.
Condition appraisal
Very good all round condition
The frame is a basic pine frame in acceptable condition,
the masking tape at the rear is distressed, we would normally remove the glass for shipping
but as much of the provenance is on the back board,this is open to discussion
Frames are provided free of charge with no warrenty on condition
Shipped in approved frame shipping carton, well packed
