Victorian inlaid walnut jewellery box in excellent condition. Attractive grain. Contrasting cross grain border to the top. Inlaid brass cartouche and escutcheon. All veneer and all inlays are in superb condition. The lid closes perfectly square. Original hinges and lock with a working key supplied. The interior has been refurbished to a high standard. Silk panel to the lid interior. Removable tray with open storage space beneath with a lightly padded silk panel to the base. Nice finishing touches to the tray with the side metal handles, gilt finished ring pulls to the 2 central lids and last but certainly not least, the silk top edging to all of the tray edging and dividers. The 8 storage sections are ideal for the likes of rings, earrings etc and the generous storage space beneath the tray ideal for those larger items of jewellery. A box of simplistic styling that would sit well in any setting.
