Description

This is a handsome silver thimble for a child housed in a mother of pearl miniature case. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1919. The maker’s mark bears the initial JR, possibly for James Rose. The thimble displays a nice Art Deco engine silver design.
The thimble presents the maker’s mark “J.R.”, the anchor, the Birmingham assay mark and letter “u” for 1919.

Height of the thimble: 2 cm | Diameter: 1.6 cm
Height of the thimble case: 5 cm | Diameter: 3.5 cm
Condition:
The thimble is in very good condition with minor wear commensurate with age. The mother of pearl case is in good condition with nice iridescence and signs of use. The hallmarks are all clear.
