Description

An attractive, good sized novelty silver bookmark formed as a stylised sword with long blade and decorative "hilt" with twisted wire scrolls and engraved vine leaves and bright cut engraved decoration of geometric friezes to the front and acanthus leaves to the reverse. Finished with a polished banded agate handle. Marked "C&N Silver", for makers Crisford & Norris, c.1900.
It measures 11.5cm (4 1/2") long and 2.5cm (1") wide.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minimal handling wear.
