Description

A striking early Spode teacup and saucer in a well potted stone china decorated with an oriental inspired pattern with trees in blossom, rocks and flowers. Printed with an underglaze blue and then hand painted in a kakiemon palette with bright enamels of red, ochre, purple, lime green and turquoise and finished with gilt accents. Early printed stone china mark, and pattern number 2117, c.1815.
The cup measures 8.9cm (3 1/2") rim to rim and 5.3cm (2 1/8") high and the saucer measures 14.3cm (5 5/8") wide.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and very minor handling wear.
