Description

An attractive and very useful early 20th century silver dressing table stand as a multi-branched ring tree for storing various items of jewellery. The circular base has an embossed neoclassical frieze of lidded urns and swagged silk with a beaded lower rim. This houses the original ivory coloured velvet covered pin cushion, originally for hatpins, but is now perfect for securely holding stud earrings.
Hallmarked for Birmingham 1911, maker Henry Matthews.
It measures 14cm (5 1/2") high and 7.5cm (2 15/16") wide.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minor appropriate signs of age and use.
(Jewellery for illustration only)
