Description

Gents silver Vertex wrist watch, 1929.
The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the VWC mark for the Vertex Watch Company.
The watch measures 32mm wide excluding the later winding crown and 32mm high excluding the fixed lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Glasgow (import mark), 1929 with a sponsor’s mark A11M, believed to be Véron Grauer & Co who undertook the British hallmarking of cases on behalf of Swiss watch manufacturers. The case is in good condition, just the odd small mark and a hint of unevenness to the back, nothing too serious at all.
The lens is in good condition.
The dial has a short hairline by number 5 but it is faint and difficult to see with the naked eye. Other than that, the dial is in lovely condition with original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
A later leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
