Description

These Wall Brackets are highly decorative with their stylised swirls holding up their small shaped shelves. And they have a wonderful sense of decadence about them with the rich gold colour they are painted. I am certain they are made from wood, although they are very light in weight and certainly have age to them, my instinct is telling me they would date to circa 1910, the Brackets carry no markings or labels so it is difficult to be certain and again my instinct tells me they are most likely not English but instead French. On the back of each Bracket two channels have been carved out on top of which a metal bar crosses, this I believe is how you hang the brackets on two nails which would give more stability to them.

CONDITION - Each of the Wall Brackets are in very good condition, but as I hope you can see clearly from the sixth photo when I pulled off the price label it took some of the paint off too, which is a shame but luckily when hung it is less likely to be seen than if it was on the front of the bracket. There is on each Bracket the usual wear to the paint one would expect but this has helped to create their beautiful Patina.
