Description

An unusual late Victorian gilt frame. The metal frame is very good quality the aperture is velvet and would not have had glass, there is evidence of two small circular plaques having been on the velvet. To the back is a very interesting trade label. John Lane, Carver & Gilder and dealer in antiques. The item dates to between 1867 & 1893 as it refers to the HSH The Prince and Princess of Teck, HSH stands for Serene Highness which I believe was only used between these dates.
