Description

A fine early 19th-century glass rummer with a bucket bowl above a capstan stem and lemon squeezer square foot.
The bowl has been engraved with 'SPEED THE PLOUGH with a shield containing farming tools and a plough.
Glasses proclaiming success to the farming industry are quite rare and this is only the 3rd Speed The Plough example we have had in recent years.
Date & Origin
England, c1800. Period of George III.
Condition
Excellent, age-related wear as shown. No chips cracks or restoration. Some minor pin pricks to the corners of the square foot. The bowls sits as a slight angle as show.
