Description

A pretty antique silver bookmark made by Charles Horner and styled as a trowel with a striking green handle made from casein, an early plastic. Horner's manufactured their own version of this plastic and trademarked it under the name "Dorcasine" and used it for a variety of small products. The silver is hallmarked for Chester 1923.
It measures 8.3cm (3 1/4") long.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair and minor handling wear.
