Technical Description
A fine example of a short stem wine glass dating to c1750. It has a drawn rib moulded bowl above a plain stem and large conical foot.
Date & Origin
England, c1750. Period of George II.
Condition
Excellent, age-related wear, no chips cracks or restoration.
Dimensions
Height: 11.2cm Bowl diameter: 5cm Foot diameter: 7.2cm.
Comments
Short stem wines are classified as having a bowl the same size as a standard height wine but on a shorter stem. Short wines exist in every 18th century wine glass form and are far far farer than a standard height example. They can often have large or firing type feet.
