Description
This wonderful Pin Dish with its sweet little dog bandaged with that turquoise polka dot bandage tied in a bow across his head with another small one around his paw is made from Spelter. It is cold painted and although unmarked could possibly be Austrian and I would imagine it would date to circa 1910. It sweetly gives the impression that this dear dog is sitting patiently waiting for his empty dish to be filled, with one paw resting on the dish bringing this to our attention. It is a lovely size although as it is designed to sit on a dressing table with a dish to hold small pins etc it in no way can be described as large. * AGE - Circa 1910 * CONDITION - This little guy is in good condition, although I hope you can clearly see from the photos that there are small areas of paint loss where it has been chipped away, which I think is to be expected with its age. I do wonder whether the inside of the dish has been repainted as the surface really doesn't seem as fine as the rest of the piece. Also I do want to say that I don't feel that my photos have done him justice with maybe the third photo for me showing the true sweetness of his face. * DIMENSIONS (Approx) - Height 3" / 7.75cm, Width 4&1/2" / 11.5cm, Depth 2&1/2" / 6.5cm * POSTAGE - UK - £9.00 I send my items both Tracked & Signed For with Royal Mail’s Special Delivery Service. I am happy to ship items to overseas buyers, please contact me prior to buying with address details and I will forward a quote deducting the cost of UK postage.
