Description
Victorian hickory golf club Sunday walking stick or cane. Know as such as you weren't allowed to play games on a Sunday in those times so the canes were made to disguise the purpose they were used for and as a sign of protest. Brass head Stamped R Forgan & Son St Andrews with the Prince of Wales feathers above. The head is attached to a hickory shaft with a cast brass ferrule. Comes with a certificate of authenticity by Sean Arnold, an authority on sporting goods. I've tried to access their site but it's no longer live so I presume they are no longer open. It was purchased by the previous owner in 2004 I believe. Lovely quality and well made but has been well used as you can see. It measures 86.4 cm 34 inches in length, the club handle is 10 cm 4 inches wide. It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age. No damage or repairs to any part of the cane. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
