Description

A stunning cut glass bonboniere from the Georgian Regency period. This rare piece has sloping sides with extensive strawberry diamonds and fan cutting. This design is continued into the stepped pedestal foot and repeated again on the lid, where there is a matching cut finial. A sign of high quality is that the cutting extends right across the base area. Bonboniere's were high quality items for the Regency table, containing bonbons or sweetmeats and have an alternative use as a preserve jar. A practical and decorative piece. Dimensions below.
