Description

A fabulous pair of French bowls and saucers from the end of the 19th Century. These lovely examples have wrythen ribbed sides, flared rims and polished pontils to the bases. The bowls are decorated and gilded with draped garlands and flowers and this motif is repeated in the matching saucers. These bowls would probably have been for bonbons or sweetmeats, but would serve well for many practical purposes. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no chips or cracks. There is some loss to the gilding, commensurate with age and use.
Origin :- French.
Date :- c1900.
