Description

C1890's Victorian hickory golf club Sunday walking stick or cane.
Know as such as you weren't allowed to play games on a Sunday in those times
so the canes were made to disguise the purpose they were used for and as a sign of protest.
Hardwood head with a lead weighted to the rear. Decorated to the face with bovine bone and mahogany studs. The head is attached to a hickory shaft with a cast brass and steel ferrule.
Lovely quality and well made.
It measures 89 cm 35 inches in length, the club head / handle is 8.3 cm 31/4 inches wide.
It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age.
No damage or repairs to any part of the cane.
