Description

A fine quality Victorian amboyna jewellery box, the top and front cross-banded in burr yew and ebony with tulipwood lines, the canted corners of the slightly domed top also banded in tulipwood. The box has unusual concave corners which are also veneered in tulipwood. To the centre of the lid is a vacant mother of pearl cartouche.
The box has been re-lined in red cotton moire fabric and a luxurious red silk velvet, the inside of the lid further enhanced with gold thread embroidery.
The box has been cleaned and professionally French polished and is in showroom condition.
