A pair of Antique Fashion plates from The Ladies Gazette of Fashion.
One entitled " The Newest Fashions for May 1856 " and the other
" Winter Fashions for 1849 "
Fair condition. Perhaps a little grubby but retaining
colour and one with a small tear to the side.
Provenance: The deceased estate of a Topsham gentleman
The Ladies' Gazette of Fashion was a popular periodical
in the 19th century that showcased the latest fashions in
women's clothing and accessories.
It featured illustrations of seasonal styles, including dresses,
hats, and other items.
The V&A has 3 works related to The Ladies' Gazette of Fashion
Made between 1850 and 1868, these objects form part of the Prints,
Drawings & Paintings Collection.
