Description

A fabulous example of a Georgian silver tableware. This superb duo comprises a round cut glass bowl on a raised foot. There is an undulating silver rim, with a reserve for the spoon and the glass is a lovely blue/grey colour. The preserve spoon has a shaped bowl and bright cut engraving to the handle, with a vacant shield shaped cartouche. Both practical and decorative, this lovely duo has many uses apart from preserves and would grace any well laid table. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no dents or splits. There are a few very minor nibbles to the glass, commensurate with age and use.
Hallmarks :- Clear and readable. Some loss to the maker's mark. The silver rim is unmarked, but tests positive for silver.
Date :- London 1810.
Maker :- George Wintle.
Spoon Length :- 13.5 cms.
Spoon width :- 3.5 cms.
Bowl height :- 7 cms.
Bowl diameter :- 11.5 cms.
