Description

During the Victorian era, it was fashionable to have jewellery created from the silver coinage of the day and here we have a lovely and distinctive example.
This is a Victorian 1887 silver thrupenny bit (3 penny) coin which has been beautifully gilded in gold with all the detailing on one side embellished in bright enamel work. The coin is set into a "porthole" style silver mount with a bale for wear as a necklace pendant or a fob on a pocket watch chain.

CONDITION
The pendant is in good antique condition with the gilding and enamelling still intact. Showing signs of age and wear as expected but nothing too untoward. There is slight surface scuffs to the glass but no cracks in the glass.
