Description

This stunning Art Deco pendant features a butterfly wing under glass and is set in a sterling silver gallery. It is the perfect example of the Art Deco era, which used bold, bright jewellery and unique materials made into fascinating shapes with superb attention to detail.
The colour of the butterfly wings is breathtaking. The pendant, hand-painted with a view of a beach scene and completed with a silver flower bail at the top, was created by renowned artist Thomas L Mott.
Butterfly wing jewellery has a long history and was popular from the late 1800s to the 1960s. It is gaining popularity again with sustainable butterfly farms worldwide.
