Description

A good example of Asian ware, this ginger jar, dates back to the late 19th or early 20th century and exemplifies the artistry of its time with its charming design featuring prunus or hawthorn blossoms rendered in delicate underglaze set against a striking blue background. This particular jar is beautifully presented on a carved wooden stand and a hand turned Mahogany lid from a more recent period.
The jar remains in good antique condition, and features twin blue rings in underglaze to the base making it a wonderful collectible piece for enthusiasts of fine porcelain and an eye catching piece of home decor.
