Small 19th Century Papier-Mâché Snuff Box – Gilt Lacquer Decoration, c.1830
A small early 19th-century rectangular snuff box in papier-mâché, with gently domed lid and rounded corners. Finished in black lacquer with traces of gilt decoration, now worn with age. The lid closes firmly with its original brass-mounted flush hinge.
Likely English, c.1830. Surface wear and rubbing throughout, particularly to the lid and front, though retaining charm. Interior also lacquered, with age-related wear.
