We believe this to be part of the collection of sketches by E Becker that by HM Queen Elizabeth II purchased from Ralph Eugene Meatyard in June 1954 for The Royal Collection Trust
Is the artwork Framed or Mounted: Mounted and Framed, as shown (Frame is offered free with the painting)
A finely observed early 19th-century topographical drawing of Windsor Castle, likely executed by E. Becker (or the Circle of) — the noted draughtsman of royal Windsor views. Executed in Becker’s distinctive style with strong architectural lines and soft grey wash foliage, echoing drawings held in the Royal Collection.
Condition report: This artwork is in fair to good condition in line with age, with some expected signs of age and handling. Please see the photographs provided to judge the quality and condition, and do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions — we are always happy to help.
