Description
Pair of Large Antique Brass Chargers c.1900 A decorative near pair of finely worked antique brass chargers. Each charger is of generous size, measuring 36 cm in diameter, and features a bold central rosette surrounded by stylised foliate and geometric repoussé decoration, all enclosed within a lightly scalloped rim. Though not identical, the two chargers are clearly of similar origin and intended as a pair, with near-matching design and scale. Both have integral hanging rings to the reverse, suggesting they were originally intended for wall display, and remain well suited to use as decorative features in a traditional or country house setting. The brass has developed a mellow, timeworn patina with age, and there are minor surface marks, dings, and oxidation spots consistent with over a century of handling and display. No major faults noted, and both display well. A handsome and substantial decorative pair. Dimensions: Diameter: 36 cm (14 1/8 inches) Condition: Good decorative condition with age-related wear. Some minor marks and soft surface indentations. One with slightly deeper tone than the other, as pictured. All items offered by Treasure Trove Worcester Ltd are carefully selected for their authenticity, decorative appeal, and period character. We specialise in antique and vintage pieces sourced with a knowledgeable eye, and we aim to provide accurate descriptions and detailed photographs for every item. Our stock is available to view by appointment at our Worcester showrooms, and we are happy to provide further information or additional images on request.
