Description

Gents 1960s Disel automatic watch.
The watch has a good quality 25-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated while the screw-on case back is stainless steel. There is light surface marking to the case but nothing too detrimental at all, all very acceptable. The case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The lens looks lovely to the naked eye, some light marking visible through a jeweller’s loupe.
The dial is signed Disel, a brand name registered by Peretz Straussberg of Geneva in 1959. The dial is in its original finish with dauphine shaped hands, centre seconds hand and date display (not quickset).
A new leather strap has been fitted.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
