Description

A lovely example of an original brass ships lamp in a gimbal mount, dating from the early 20th century. It is designed to be either wall mounted or placed on a table. The gimbal would have allowed it to sway and move with the motion of the ship and the heavy weighted base would have kept it stable.
It has been PAT tested and rewired to modern standards to take a standard bayonet bulb (bulb not included).
The lamp is in good condition and displays well. The brass has tarnished over time and has only been lightly polished to retain its original patina. There are some signs of age and use but nothing detrimental.
