Description

A charming antique naive folk art trinket box. The box modelled as a house with the name ‘Cheerie Cottage’ to the base and carved details for the windows, doors and bricks. The roof opening to revealing a pale pink padded interior with gold shoe ‘good luck’ charm stitched to the lid. Mid to late 19th century.
Maximum length of base 17.8cm, maximum width of base 10cm maximum height including chimney approximately 10.1cm. Interior approximately 12.5cm wide, 4.8cm deep.
In good country house decorative condition with a pleasing patination to the surface. A slight knock to the back left corner of the roof however this does not detract. The interior slightly discoloured and dirty as expected with age and use, however the hinge working smoothly. The gold ‘Good Luck’ shoe charm has been squashed but is present and still a charming addition. Please see photographs for condition and do not hesitate to ask any questions.
