Description

Superb 19th century silver top walking stick or cane.
The silver isn't hallmarked but has tested to 925 standard.
Repousse work decoration around the pommel depicting tigers and foliage. Mounted on a Malacca shaft.
It measures 90.4 cm 35 9/16 inches in length, very long for a cane of this age. The pommel is 3.5 cm 1 3/8 inches wide and 6.4 cm 2 1/2 inches long.
The shaft is Malacca so fairly light although would give some support.
The ferrule is original and made of brass and steel.
It's in excellent condition but with some signs of age and use as you'd expect at this age.
Some minor surface marks to the silver as shown although fabulous condition for it's age. No damage or repairs. The shaft is also in excellent order with just age marks to the surface of the lacquer.
