A beautiful example of a Victorian Tunbridge ware writing slope, dating to around c.1880. The exterior is crafted from richly figured burr walnut, enhanced with striking Tunbridge ware mosaic inlay featuring geometric and star motifs, showcasing the fine craftsmanship for which Tunbridge ware is renowned.
The slope opens to reveal its original velvet writing surface, well-preserved and evocative of the period. It retains its working lock and key, a desirable feature for collectors and those wishing to use it as a secure and functional piece.
