Description

For sale is this attractive ladies clutch or hand bag. From the style and materials used, I would estimate it was made some time in the 1930s. However, it is decorated with Chinese embroidery on silk fabric which I believe is much older, probably from the 1800s. The embroidered fabric was probably part of a cuff on a Chinese robe. This fabric is intricately embroidered in pinks, salmons, and blues heightened with gold thread. The clutch is lined with an emerald green silk lining which is intact. It's an elegant and sophisticated accessory! The bag measures about 27 by 18 centimeters and weighs about 206 grams. Condition is pretty good with no tears or holes. Some loose threads and wear from handling over time.
