Description

Gents Eterna-Matic Centenaire “61” wrist watch, 1964.
The watch has an automatic movement, 1438U, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number dates it back to 1961.
The Eterna Centenaire “61” was in production from 1961 to 1963. It was launched as a follow-up to the Centenaire line introduced in 1956 for Eterna's 100th anniversary.
The watch measures 34.5mm diameter excluding the lugs. The case is stainless steel and the condition is good, just the odd small mark but nothing too serious. The screw on case back is signed Centenaire on the outside and Eterna Watch Co on the inside. There is general marking across the back, probably from an earlier thread through strap.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with dauphine hands, centre seconds and quickset date (initially set by repeatedly pulling the crown). Some light freckling across the dial.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
