Description

A fine example of a beautiful Victorian Vanity Box with silver plated interior. The outer of the box is covered in black grained shagreen leather with a brass carrying handle, brass escutcheon and brass closing latches.
The box has a fully fitted velvet interior with various glass bottles and pots, some with silver plated lids. There is also a full manicure set with bone handles and the inner tray lifts out to reveal further storage below. The lid is lined in plush blue velvet and it folds down to reveal a letter or document holder and its original glass mirror behind.
The vanity box is excellent quality and in very good condition for its age. There are some signs of age and use and some minor old splits by the carrying handle (see photos) but the box has a lovely patina and it displays beautifully. The interior is clean and tidy and there are no major damages to any of the pots or accessories.
