Description

A Victorian still life oil painting on canvas, dating to the late 19th century and signed "G Lance 1876" to the lower right. The composition is based on a work by French artist Henri Fantin-Latour, known for his quiet, carefully composed studies of flowers and fruit.
The painting shows a vase of pale pink and cream roses beside a small arrangement of fruit and tableware. The colours are rich and distinctive standing out clearly against the paler, softer background
Set within a decorative gilt frame and ready to hang. It’s a striking piece with good scale and colour, and would suit a variety of spaces.

In good antique condition with wear and tear appropriate for age and use. There is some paintloss as can be seen in the pictures and there has also been touch ups and a historic repair as can be seen from the back.
