Description
An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has a comfortable wide and deep elm seat with broad arms, turned spindles and turned legs joined by a double stretcher. It is a pleasant mellow colour with a lovely grain on the seat. It is approximately 32 1/2" (83cm) high, 19 1/4" (49cm) deep and it is 26" (66cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 17 1/4" (44cm) high. It is in good condition for its age. It has developed a nice aged patina and is a strong and sturdy chair. The chair is not without a few small marks and knocks and signs of age and use but no major damages and nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use. The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
