Description

An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has a comfortable wide and deep elm seat with broad arms, turned spindles and turned legs joined by a double stretcher. It is a pleasant mellow colour with a lovely grain on the seat.
It is approximately 32 1/2" (83cm) high, 19 1/4" (49cm) deep and it is 26" (66cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 17 1/4" (44cm) high.
It is in good condition for its age. It has developed a nice aged patina and is a strong and sturdy chair. The chair is not without a few small marks and knocks and signs of age and use but no major damages and nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
