Description
Early 19th Century Coloured Mezzotint – Lady Carrington after Sir Thomas Lawrence A finely engraved early 19th century coloured mezzotint of Lady Carrington, engraved by Charles Rolls after Sir Thomas Lawrence PRA. This delicately executed portrait captures the grace and refinement of Regency portraiture, showing the sitter in a softly draped interior with characteristic poise and composure. The colouration remains gentle and well preserved, with Rolls’ fine handling evident throughout. Presented under glass in a richly carved and gilded Rococo-style frame, likely Italian and of later 20th century date. An attractive small-scale piece of period engraving, ready to hang. Date: c.1825 (print) Engraver: Charles Rolls After: Sir Thomas Lawrence PRA Medium: Coloured mezzotint on paper Frame measures 14.5 x 18 cm Print in very good condition with light age toning. Frame with minor wear to gilding consistent with age. All items offered by Treasure Trove Worcester Ltd are carefully selected for their authenticity, decorative appeal, and period character.
