A genuine 19th-century hand-coloured wood engraving showing Skeldergate Bridge, York, as newly completed in 1881.
This finely detailed scene captures the bustle of Victorian York with elegant figures strolling along the riverside, horse-drawn carts, and steamboats beneath the bridge.
The print retains its original period colouring, typical of Illustrated London News issues of the era, adding warmth and authenticity to the composition.
Presented mounted and framed as shown, this is a charming historical view of York and an attractive decorative antique print.
