Antique Silver Cigarette Case

Description

A good example of a solid silver cigarette case. It has a lovely curved shape so it fits nicely into the palm of your hand. The exterior is beautifully decorated with swirling foliage on both sides with a round cartouche on the front. The case opens on a hinge to a gilt interior with elastic straps for holding the cigarettes.
It is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham, 1919 and the maker William Hair Haseler. It weighs approximately 88g.
It is in very good condition for its age and it has never been engraved. There are some small dinks and minor surface marks and general signs of age and use but no major damages and it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
