Description
A fine example of an antique Silk Top Hat with its original leather box, dating from the early 20th Century. The silk hat has a felt band and is silk lined. It has the maker's mark for "Henry Heath. 105 to 109 Oxford St. London. By Special Appointment to His Majesty the King". The hat is in good condition and displays beautifully. There are some signs of age and use, some minor wear around the top edge and some minor wear inside (see photos) but nothing detrimental. It would certainly be wearable. The inner circumference is approx 21" / 53cm which translates as a UK size 6 1/2. The hat comes with its original leather carrying case with a plush lined interior and strap for securing the hat. The case is in very good condition with a beautiful patina. There are some signs of age and use, some minor scuffs and marks and the leather hinging strap has worn through at the back (see photo) but overall it displays well. Approximate Measurements (Hat) : Height : 5 1/4" / 13cm Width. : 9 1/2" / 24cm Depth : 12" / 30 cm Box : Height : 10" / 25.5cm Width : 12 1/4" / 32cm Depth : 14" / 36cm The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.
