He began painting during the First World War , after his law studies. A member of the Salon des artistes Français , he received an honourable mention there in 1922 and exhibited there in 1929

He exhibited his paintings in Renaix in 1951 (individual) and in 1955 (group).
One of the Hainaut prizes is awarded by the city of Tournai in his honor. Working in Paris, but belonging to the “Ecole Belgique” Although Lucien Dasselborne (also d'Asselborne, it is a small village in neighbouring Luxembourg where his ancestors will have originated from.
